Below is a list of projects expected to begin in 2016.

Current Projects & Construction - LCRC
1. Klam Road
Klam Road between Marathon Road and Peters Road will be closed starting March 10, 2016. Only emergency vehicles, buses and local traffic will be able to get through. The opening of this road is unkown at this time.
2. Lake Nepessing : I-69 - Pratt Drive
The Lapeer County Road Commission will be replacing several cross tubes on Lake Nepessing between I-69 and Lippincott April 27 - 28. Crushing and shaping of the road will begin April 29th, one lane will be open. Resurfacing of the road is scheduled for mid May and resteration is to follow. Completion of the project is tenatively scheduled for early June, weather permitting.
Projects - Other Jurisdictions
* April 27, 2016 - C N Railroad has an emergency road closure on Saginaw Road in Lapeer City limits. The south bound lane will be completely closed, near the railroad crossing.
1. Bridge work along I-69
MDOT will complete repairs and improvements to 11 bridge structures in Lapeer County. Beginning Friday, April 15, crews will start work on the underside of Wilder Road, Five Lakes Road, Lake George Road and Lake Pleasant Road over I-69. This will require single-lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-69 from Lake Pleasant Road to Wilder Road.
Additional lane closures can be expected later this year while crews continue structures, including top side of the bridges.
The estimated completion is September 2016.

2. Lake Nepessing Road Bridge Replacement Over I-69
Michigan Department of transportation (MDOT) will replace the Lake Nepessing Road bridge over I-69 starting March 14, 2016. This project will require Lake Nepessing traffic to be detoured at I-69. I-69 traffic under Lake Nepessing Road will also be detoured while demolition work is completed, scheduled for the night of March 14, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to follow the detour route listed below.
Northbound Lake Nepessing Road:
- Take eastbound I-69 to M-24, then westbound I-69 to return to Lake Nepessing Road.
Southbound Lake Nepessing Road:
- Take westbound I-69 to Elba Road, then eastbound I-69 to return to Lake Nepessing Road.
Eastbound and Westbound I-69:
- I-69 may have intermitten single-lane closures at Lake Nepessing Road while work on the substructure is completed. Traffic may also be directed to the exit and entrance ramps during demolition and other work phases.

3. KWA Water Pipeline
-Cade Road - Hull Road to Clear Lake Road
-Clear Lake Road - Cade Road to Lake Pleasant
-Lake Pleasant Road - Clear Lake Road to Kings Mill Road
-Kings Mill Road - Lake Pleasant Road to Scholtz Road
-Norway Lake Road - Scholtz Road to Flint River Road
-Klam Road - Peters Road to Stanley
-Stanley Road - Klam through Genesee County
-Scholtz - Kings Mill to Norway Lake
Construction began Wednesday April 22, 2015 on the KWA water pipeline. The construction began at Jefferson Road and continues west; As well as at Cade Road and continues west. Expect detours and road closures as crews move through the areas. Crews are currently at Wier/Norway Lake and Clear Lake/Black Corners (11/04/2015)
**Starting Monday December 28th the operations will move from the east side of M-24 to the west side. The detour around the operations will be Columbiaville Road to Skeleton Road.(12/28/2015)
**Starting Monday March 14th Lake Pleasant Road will be closed from Clear Lake to Kings Mill Road, open to local traffic only.The posted detour for northbound Lake Pleasant Road will begin at Lum Road heading east to Summers Road, south to Armstrong Road, east to M-53, north to Burnside Road, then west back to Lake Pleasant. The southbound Lake Pleasant Road detour route will be the reverse of the northbound detour. Eastbound Kings Mill Road will have a posted detour beginning at Cedar Lake Road heading south to Welch Road, then east to Lake Pleasant Road.(03/11/2016)
**Starting Wednesday April 6, 2016 Stanley Road will be closed to through traffic from Marathon to German Road to allow installation of a new 36" and 48" water main as part of the GCDC-WWS Trans Mains Project. Local traffic will be permitted to access their driveways along Stanley Road.(04/04/16)
**Starting Tuesday April 26th Marathon Road and Stanley Road will be closed for installation of water main. Stanley Road east of Marathon will be completely closed, please follow posted detours for both roads..(04/22/2016)
